They talk about “the budget” like it’s a wild animal that must be tamed, then immediately approve a $700 throw pillow “for the vibe.” You rarely see them touch equipment, but without them, the whole shoot would collapse — mostly because they’re the only one who can sweet-talk the city into letting you film without a permit.
On set, they’re part problem-solver, part politician, part magician… and 100% gone when the heavy lifting starts.
